Is it possible to connect a SPARCstation 20 to an A1000 using a Sun X1065A 370-2443 Differential SCSI Card.

Any help on this subject is appreciated.

Yes.
You will need to go to SunSolve and get info doc 43483
which details O/S versions and patches.

You will have to download RM6 (Raid Manager)

Look at Sun Doc for Raid manager 6.22. This will tell you how to install.

1. Install the new Diff board
2. At the ok prompt do a show-devs and look for the new
board. If there go to step 3. If not you have a
problem with the new board. CORRECT.

3. boot -r

4. init 0
5. add the A1000
6. probe-scsi-all
7. Is the the A1000 seen? If so goto step 8
If not then there is a problem -- correct
8. install RM6 and all necessary patches and firmware.

9. reboot -r

10. Run RM6 and configure then A1000.

Ok, I have connected the A1000 to my sparc20. When I run health check I see the following:

Health Check Summary Information

A1000_001: Failed Battery
A1000_001: Dead LUN at Drive [2,1]

healthck succeeded!

I think the battery shows failed because I pulled the battery out while the A1000 was powered down. The indication lights on the back of the A1000 look ok (no amber light). Do I have to reset something or is there something really wrong with the battery?

Also,

When I launch rm6 and click on status or any of the icons nothing happens, however, the command line utilities seem to be working fine any ideas?

Thanks,

Stickybit.
