I would suggest you leave the 'Path Cost' alone if you don't understand how it works. If you're interested in how it works that I suggest you search Google.
The answer is that these values are auto-calculated and you don't need to fiddle with them.
It's the STG bridge priorities on your core switches you might want to adjust - assuming you're using >1 core switch.
If your LAN is a simply star with your one router in the middle, you don't really have to worry about it... until your users start patching patch ports into each other...heh.
