I was just thinking out loud to myself (which I wonder is a condition I should post on another forum) if there would be any advantage at all to using two (or more) separate trunk ports and PVST+ versus just creating an etherchannel when it comes to connecting two switches together. I understand that if you are conncting multiple switches together in multiple hiarchey Spanning Tree would be needed, but if you are just considering two basic switches. The only thing I could think of would be sending different vlans over different trunks for security, but not sure that would be a big consideration accross just two switches anyway. Thoughts?
