Spanning Tree Topology Change Alert Question

Senerio: 40 capture files over a 48 hour period, each file has 1 spanning tree topology change alert, all of them do not have changes in the details, and none of them have "closed". They are all "in progress" and they are all from the root switch. I wish I had the files in front of me but I don't and that is all the info I was given at this time.
Question: Has anybody have an idea what might be happening or what I should look for? I think they may be false alerts or the up/down linked equipment has STP turned off.

I posted a similar problem I encountered. Just ended up being a by product of using a span port.
