Hi,

We recently suffered a switch loop, which was caused by someone plugging an active rj45 socket back into another active rj45 wall socket, causing a switch to go mad with collisons and broadcasts.

Needless to say, this soon brought our network to it's knees.

If Spanning Tree was enabled on all our switches, would that have blocked this type of loop from taking down the network?

Thx

Yes it would have. If you currently have spanning tree port fast turned on then you should also enable bpduguard.
