I am sick of getting spam email. Here is my thought process, im not sure if it is possible, but i hope it is.

I have email accounts hosting at many differeny internet sites. i want to install spamassassin on my local linux box (acting as router and firewall). Is it possible to have my mail intercepted here, and filtered before it gets to my outlook inbox on a windows machine within my local network??

You have a couple of options, you could set-up your linux box to retreive your mail for you and then get your windows box to retreive the mail from their, or you could set-up the Linux box as an Imap mail server then get windows to connect to that. If you set-up the Imap option you could also use a webmail interface and use your email from any internet connection.

so you saying have my linux server obtain email from my mupltiple email accounts, then imap into linux .. that sounds like a good idea.. any suggestions how i would go about setting that up?
