Hello,

What's the best way to protect your Groupwise mail system from spam from the internet.

The things that we use are all client based, and our users are not technical enough to set them up and the Service-desk people won't go to all our 1700 employes to set it up.

So is there anything what can be used as a global setting to protect the mail system against mail??

Please share your experienses!!

thanks

Dampo

If PC's where simple,

We've been using a product called XWall. It is not as extensive as some of the other products we have tried since it provides little in the way of rules. But since it is a single price ($350-$400 I think), not priced per mailbox, it makes it very affordable. It catches about 60-70% of spam. Worth a look. And has 30 trial.

I've been using GEE Whiz Anti-viruv/Anti-SPAM software to protect my GWIA and it has proved very flexable. It will run with the Server based AV software of your choice and incorporates SpamAssassin rules as well as White lists, Black lists and Attachment filtering. You administer Gee Whiz from a Web Browser. It is very simple to install and runs as a single NLM on your GWIA server. GO to:

and check out the other GroupWise enhancements there.
