The guyz who originally setup our exchange 2003 server installed 'Ihatespam' and 'trendmicro ScanMail'. The reason for scanmail was to protect against viruses, trojans, etc as the other program just does spam filtering.
The Management console for ScanMail is installed on default Website, which was recently stopped. Because the other admin couldn't set up ActiveSynch connection for VP's Treo.
Under IIS, there is another virtual directory that has OWA running and SSL certificate installed directly on the virtual directory rather than on Exchange folder underneath. I recently started working here and trying to make some sense out of what is going on.
One more problem is that Exchange server also has Trend Micro OfficeScan client installed, which is pretty often sending alerts after looking at files that were earlier quarantined by its own product-TrendMicro Scan Mail. This is creating big impact on server's performance.
First of all, I like to be able to connect to ScanMail Managment console by somehow moving it to the website that is running OWA. Second, how can I prevent OfficeScan to send those continuous alerts? Third, I like to replace 'ihatespam' application, as it sends lot of legit messages to Spam folders. And there are far two many places to check for spam emails. There 3 SPAM directories, 1 Junk email folder in Outlook, and SPAM folder that came with TrendMicro Scanmail.
Thanks in advance,
-faisal

I'd setup SP2 with the related messaging hygiene features such as Recipient and Sender filtering, tarpitting, Connection filtering, etc.

You need to exclude the working and quarantine folders from one AV solution in the other (and vice versa). Also make sure that the file level solution isn't scanning the Exchange folders.

I would suggest to make the time during an off-weekend to take good backup and start over a clean installation.
When I read all the stuff on your server, I am even surprised the thing still runs!
