Hi !
I get a lot of messages looking like this into my 5.5 GWIA:

>MAIL FROM:<orion3350@hotmail.com>
>RCPT TO:<5769331@hanmail.net>
>Received: from hotmail.com

These messages will generate an "Undeliverable gateway message" looking like this:

The attached file had the following undeliverable recipient(s):
5769331@hanmail.net (access denied)

I have configured my GW system not to relay messages but what are these messages and how can I get rid of them ?

Has anyone seen similar problems and how can configure GW
to just drop these messages ?

Regards
Lars-Gunnar

I manage 2 different GW Domains, 1 GW6 and 1 GW5.5. I see this problem a lot with the GWIA on the 5.5 system but not the GWIA 6.0. They are trying to use you to relay SPAM. The 2 gateways operate slightly differently in the way they stop relayed mail. GWIA 6.0 rejects anything that is not deliverable to it's Domain, while GWIA 5.5 will examine the message before sending it to the Problem folder. The system then sends the Undeliverable message to you (Postmaster). The sender thinks that they sucessfully Relayed the message to the 5.5 Gateway because of this action and will keep on using your Gateway. Check the Novell Knowledge Base for a fix or upgrade to GW 6.0. Also remember to clean out the GWIA Problem folder.

Thanx for your reply.
I will upgrade to GW 6.0 in a couple of months.
