Spam Filtration

Hello all,

As we all know, lots of spam is out there. What techniques/applications/hardware have worked best for you, to stop spam from entering your exchange 2003 organization?

I saw this device on the net:

What do you guys think? Any good?

Enable the built in features of SP2, including Recipient Filtering, Sender Filtering, Connection Filtering, tarpitting, etc.

When those are properly configured, most of your spam is stopped.

hi markus, i've been using barracuda for about 1 yr, so far so good, it done the job for me, hopefully it'll do the job for you as well

MessageLabs have a good service if you want to outsource it.

We use a Ciphertrust Ironmail, it's similar to the barracuda. To be honest, with in-built anti-virus scanning (one has yet to pass it and be detected by Mcafee/AVG/Norton), a high catch rate and a false positive rate that doesn't really register - I can't see us changing from them.

Carlsberg don't run I.T departments, but if they did they'd probably be more fun.

I'm with Pat. Use IMF since it is free. If you don't like it then look at the paid solutions.
