I have Exchange Server 5.5 with Outlook 2000/XP Clients. I was wondering if anyone has used any type of Spam Blocker and if anyone could suggest one to me.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks! That is exactly what I was looking for!

- look at mail essentials. spam part is now free! full version is about $2 per mailbox and its worth it. I'm trapping a lot of spam, porn, swearing, mailshots, digests.

I know everything about getting hold of Viagra...:)

Thanks Zelandakh. That's funny that you suggested Mail Essentials. I am in the process of setting that up on my server now! I am glad to hear that it is working for you.

I tried McAffee Spamkiller on my network - it's a client as opposed to a gateway solution.

It's not very good.

We use MailMarshal for SMTP from Marshal Software ( and we are very happy with it. It lets us control what content is blocked, if any, and lets us virus scan all incoming and outgoing mail. We have a site license for McAfee Virusscan, and MailMarshal uses it to do its virus scanning. The content filtering for Spam and P*rn spam is good, and the signature files are updated periodically. Also, I can pass through any mail that was accidentally blocked, which is useful. I didn't care much for Essentials, but that's just me. :)
