I have 20MB var space in /var/aprtition.I want to add 200MB
Disk Space in this partition.
Can anybody tell me how can I add more space in existing Partition.

Regd,

umm ... you can do it in a few ways ... some nice, others nasty ...

nasty: you can mount the new partition somewhere on your unix system, then symbolic link the diretcories you want to add space (within var) to it ...

i.e. mount 200Mb as /mnt/newvar
and ln -s /mnt/newvar /var/mail ...

niceish: get the 200Mb partition ...

tar up /var ...
untar onto the new 200Mb partition ...
modify /etc/vfstab and change the mount device for /var to the new device ...

reboot and they should sort themselves out ...

told you it was nice_ish_ :)

Thnaks Jad for valuable suggestion.

Ajay
