Hi all,

We upgraded our Exchange 2k3 server yesterday to SP2. We are now having an issue with attachments being converted to .dat files, specifically PDF files. I've searched through Microsofts KB articles and found that Exchange changed their method of dealing with uuencoded (unix) attachements. They now say it is the sending systems fault.

Does anyone have information on how I can fix this?

Our environment is SBS2k3 SP1 patched with Exchange 2k3 SP2 on the same server and using Outlook 2000 and 2k3 on the workstations.

Thanks in advance.

Send a PDF from a hotmail account and see. There used to be MIME encoding issues coming from punters on AOL.

Can't really see it being SP2, but am prepared to change my mind :)

Thanks for your reply. This is only an issue when the PDF file is generated within a Unix system and then e-mailed to us.

We are rewriting the code on our Unix programs to take the new method into account.

We were just hoping for a work around so we wouldn't have to do this.

Thanks anyway.

BJ
