SP1 to SP3 1

Yopu must upgrade from SP1 to SP2, then upgrade to SP3.
Even better would be to start all over. Mainly because you may be waiting quite a long time for you clients to upgrade to SP2 from SP1 (depending on how large and/or mobile your SMS environment is).
If you choose to start all over, you could:
1. Build a separate SMS2 SP3 site with separate hardware and cut the clients over in an orderly fashion. This way you could even upgrade to Windows 2000 or SQL 2000 at the same time.
or:
2. Shut down the old server, rebuild it (live with the resulting problems) run 20clicln.bat in your logon script and then let the machine re-assign and re-install.
