SP1 Installation question

I need to upgrade exchange to SP1. The operating system also needs to be upgraded to 2003 SP1. Does it matter which SP1 is installed first, exchange or operating system or any issues other than post installation hot fixes I need to worry about. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Elegant solutions are nice, but right now I'll settle for whatever works.

Upgrade to Exchange SP2. Doesn't matter which order but I'd personally harden the OS first.
