We have a MM MSS 2.0 - 32.4 and a MAS 2.0 - 2.0

We just downloaded the SP6 for the MAS and ordered the MM R2 APPL SFTW on CD-Rom as well. Avaya's site said you need to load this first before the patch.

It says to follow the release instructions, but I haven't seen any documentation on the applying the Service Pack.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I need to do/look out for? I know I'm supposed to do the MSS first, but is there anything special that needs to be done?

Issues fixed in this patch

201-4909

On Exchange backends, a problem may occur where all FEDB updates fail with a 1023 Function Sequence Error (FSE). In a MM system that has more then one MAS, users could experience inconsistent results depending on which MAS is experiencing the problem. A restart of the Message Application Service stops the 1023 FSE errors, but a full FEDB re-build is necessary on the MAS systems that have this problem.

Details of fix:

Added code to keep the 1023 FSE errors from occurring.

In the Audix TUI, if a subscriber tries to print a fax without the default print destination number being set, they will hear “I’m sorry, there is a problem with the system” and the call is disconnected.

Details of fix:

Made code changes to keep the subscriber from being disconnected.

Excellent..

Is there any instructions for the MSS portion of the upgrade? Does it just boot from the CD, or is there a Menu option for loading a software upgrade?
