Hi,

I'm new to the Sharepoint Technology and currently plan to do my first project. Now I need some inspiration and ideas. This ist the situation .

We developed an html-file Generator that builds msdn-style help files from buisniess-objects and controls of our application and all the other stuff that needs user-documentation.

We generate a header, Images, discription of Menueitems and an index of all files and placeholders for further help-textes. The structure of the application is extensible, so that the generated content is extensible. There will be always new objects that need to be documented.

At the end of the process a chm-file will be generated on the base of the documentation. This works so fine. But there is no mechanism to let content be edited by the customer.

From now the further helptext should be created and edited by a special group of users from the customer with no IT-Skills. And here comes Sharepoint (2007).

The idea is to generate the automic help-files each day. This html-sites should be loaded in a Sharepoint-masterpage and will be edited there. So the site structure is never manipulated by hand, but the content.

To do this I need to know some things

1. Is it possible to link, diplay and edit external html sites with in a sharepoint masterpage and save the edited kontent? (If yes, how?)

2. Is it possible to generate an index structure from a html-toc file to navigate through the html-sites in sharepoint

3. What are the best practices to solve the task

Many questions...
Marcus
