I want to setup Sourcesafe at my company but the only good server to set it up on is a Novell server. Anyone done this? Any hints? can it actually be done?

I don't see why not. Source safe is only a directory based database so as long as the Novell server is a file system then you should be able to.

Hope this helps,

Like Chris says, VSS is a file-based SCCS, so any network that supports that (and they all do, from NT, Netware, Samba on Linux, to NFS on Solaris or MacOS) will be fine.

BTW: I've run it on Netware 4.x with no problems. But that was when VSS was owned by One Tree Software.

Thanks guys, I hope I've done it right but I just ran Sourcesafe admin on my computer (W2K) and created a VSS database on the Netware server.
