Performance data seems to be difficult to come by.. Can anyone suggest sources, documents, benchmark data, etc. to compare SAN/NAS devices?
I am looking for a storage device for a development environment using lots of virtualization. Each VM is relatively low volume, but primarily writes. The aggregate IOPS have grown to outpace our cobbled together Linux solution.
Of course, we're on a budget. So, I'm trying to determine what is "good enough" without overdoing it.
In particular, does anyone have data comparing the SMB units, like the D-Link DSN-3200, Netgear ReadyNAS 3200, and Qnap TS-809U-RP with the big boys like EMC, Netapp, IBM, or HP storage solutions?
