Source Safe and VB6 Crystal Reports Ver 6

When I am in the IDE mode of VB, trying to work on some code, I cannot compile the project in order to even get to the code. I am assuming this is because I have Crystal Ver. 8 loaded as an independent piece of software. If I load Crystal 8 on the D drive instead of the C drive, would that allow me to use the VB software projects that include Crystal Rep. ver 6 reports?
