I need a file name in the rule from the FTP adapter command in the source card.
The following is the adapter ftp command to grab the files from the folder.

ftp://xxxxx:yyyy@ftp.zzzzz.com/ftp/ss/dd/*.*;type=D

??? Not clear. Everything after the > will return a list of files on the server. Pass this to a RUN map from a functional map (if the list is short and the files are small) or write each file name to a trigger file from the functional map and trigger a map to get the file.

What exactly are you trying to do?

I got it the following information from your message is my solution.

Bottom line I need a file name from the adapter command.I can get this by the following procedure...I did it its working for me .Thanks much Boca Your really gr8.

" write each file name to a trigger file from the functional map and trigger a map to get the file."

That is the best method if there are alot of files or large files. If you call a RUN map, everything is in one transaction, and the FTP can time out. Creating trigger files (and using the getfilename function) keeps thinsg discrete.
