I am running CR XI and we are in the process of implementing a new software package from which I am pulling data by Oracle ODBC driver. I just started using CR so this question may be fundamental in nature. We currently have a test database that I have been pulling data from and all my reports are pointed to it. We are now moving data from test to a live database and I need to change some of my reports to now point at the live database. What is the easiest way to go into a report and switch the tables from one database to the other (Test to Live) Both databases are identical in table structure but new data will now be in the live one.

Thanks for your help.

In Crystal, use the menu option of: Database, Set Datasource Location...

Alternatively, edit the ODBC DSN settings to point to the other server.

Hi,
Another way to do that is to change the tnsnames.ora file on the server to have the tnsnames alias used in the reports 'point' to the Live instance instead of test one.
( or use a DNS alias as the HOST= entry and redefine that when needed)
We have done that fairly regularly when we had to change the Oracle servers for some reason.
