Recent Craig's List ad. How come Microsoft/Adobe don't eat this guy for lunch? They've been advertising this for at least a year. Too small of a fish?

One can also go to YouTube to find HD versions of Snow White and Dumbo that have been there for months (if not years). But Disney does not seem to care.

c'est la vie sur internet

Adobe & Microsoft moved to a software activation model so they may be delusional to think piracy has ended and don't look for this kind of stuff as much anymore.

Right, but these are likely using volume licensing key codes (corporate key codes) which BYPASS the online activation so they could theoretically sell hundreds using the same code. And those are ones that companies don't like to have floating about.

Maybe I'll go on an undercover investigation a la Chris Hanson and meet up with the guy in a dark alley in Detroit. Or maybe NOT.

We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. Now, thanks to the Internet, we know this is not true.

Because nothing bad ever happened in a Detroit alley, dark or not. [smile]

CORRECT. But...... please don't confuse the city limits of Detroit (bad [mad]) with our suburbs (nice [bigsmile]).

I'm going to try to get a number for the bootlegger and have some fun with them. This is when boredom leads to trouble.

Just an FYI that VLK's work differently now. Medium-to-Large companies will usually host their own KMS (Key Management Service) to manage activation of Windows and other Microsoft software such as Office. The Microsoft product needs to stay in touch with the KMS host to remain activated, otherwise after 180 days, the installation will no longer be valid. The advantage here is that companies using this method don't have to worry as much about the key itself.

I always find it hilarious that the suburbs (which probably means the third ring now) blame Detroit for its problems.

Personally I'd like to take a saw and cut out an arc from Flint through Brighton toward Toledo and push the entire mess into Lake Erie. Just make sure Snyder is home at his castle in Ann Arbor when it happens.

Did not say that at all. Not the venue for this you left winger you.
