Sound using laptop with tv out to a television 1

Hi all,

i have a dell insprion laptop and i connected the laptop to my tv becuase it has tv out capabilities. I get the video on the tv perfectly, but the sound only comes out of the laptop. I do have the sound cord (black) connected from laptop to the tv. Please help me so i can get sound on the tv also... thx ^^

This sounds like a television setup question more than a computer issue.

I'd go into the TV setup menus and see if the TV is set up to receive the signal that you have the cable plugged into(some TV's are like that). Also, make sure you have them plugged into the correct location. Most TV's have audio inputs as two RCA connectors (white and red), hence an adapter is usually needed to convert from the 3.5" stereo plug.

On the computer, the green plug is audio out
