Hello Everyone, I'm a composer, with lots of experience in audio and computer, trying to finish a Web Presentation for a client.I composed the music for it. I used my sound files in start sync mode, and tried to divide the score in different soundclips. Some of them are short and need to be really tight to a specific frame, but some of them are more free.
After publishing the file, I have diferent results, the audio seems to sync correctly in the swf file, but when it is played through internet explorer, it drifts.Same happens (it drifts) when published as a .mov file.
I can't seem to get a standard sync between all the formats. Is there any rule of thumb? Is there any step I forgot to do, or is not possible to have accurate sync to the frame using flash ?
Thanks a lot for your help, is really appreciated
Diego

Just a thought, have you made sure that the frame rate matches the BMP? Regards

yes, In the .swf file I did in my computer, sync works perfectly. The problem starts when I try to use this file embedded in a .html or running it in different (slower) machines.

You might want to have a look at this thread250-164662 and check the links I posted.
In the second one, from Macromedia... You'll find this:

..."The obvious advantage of using streaming sound is the ability to synchronize sound with animation. Unfortunately, if the forum is the Internet, the unpredictable delivery to unpredictable computers will produce unpredictable results. When a Flash movie is intended to be played directly, such as in video format (QuickTime or Windows AVI) or via the Flash Player, a much more successful synchronization can be expected.

from what i have read , and i had a link but lost it, the only way to guarantee sync on any system is to break up the actual sound file itself into different instrument layers..the beats in one..the keyboards in another, etc..and then you have to be able to place each individual beat in a frame or the frame that you want it in..the same with the rest of the cords and keys of whatever instruments are involved..that way you are guaranteed a sync..but that's not to say that if the user has a slow system that the sound won't drag while tweens and things slow down the movie on a slow system..

i will look for that link..there is a program but i can't remember where i seen it..
