I have just installed windows 2000 on my compaq presario which has a 700 mhz CPU 380 mb of sdram and on board video and sound. For some reason my sound just will not work. When i go to device manager it indicates that some thing is wrong but when i try to upgrade the driver it tells me that it can not be found. How would i go about fixing this problem.

Not familiar with the Compaq model you have, but you'll probably need to obtain the correct sound drivers from the Compaq website. Maybe there's an option in the BIOS to enable/disable? Or maybe a jumper on the motherboard...
