Hi Gang,
One of my colleagues continues to here this phantom sound from her PC regardless of the sound scheme.

1) The sound is similar to a drop of water
2) It plays for indeterminate reasons but seems primarily related to IE, when she opens a browser window, navigates a web page, clicks a link etc.
3) I've even turned all of the sounds off, through control panel>Sounds and
Audio Devices>Sounds Tab> No Sound under "Sound Scheme" but still hear the
sound!
Any ideas?

Hi,

Have you tried disabling the soundcard in Device manager? I'd also run a spy/malware check too. spybot
