Sound plays at random.

I'm using Windows 2000 Pro, and every so often and at random, a sound will play on the computer. I know the sound, it's one of the Utopia-theme alert-type sounds. (I can't recall off-hand which one, but it's definitely an alert of some sort.)

I knew it for a Windows sound, so I went to the pertinent folders and renamed the sound files (I found it twice) to .old. That didn't change anything; the same sound will play, at random, every so often.

I've tried closing unnecessary programs, to no avail. Here is the HijackThis logfile:


What even the hell?
 
You've either got a virus, or that is a warning about heat overload inside your PC.
