Hi,

the manual of my ECS K7S5A mainboard (version 3.1) states that it has the CMI9738 chip on-board. When I checked out the website of CMI, I saw that chipset supports 4 Channels.

On my pc-case I have only line-out, line-in and mic-in. Is there any way to enable for channels playback or is that only possible with PCI-cards with the CMI9738 chipset?

Thx in advance

The CMI9738 sound is usually implemented with REAR OUT sharing the jack with LINE IN on the Elite mobo's. Obviously, you can't do both at once. Should be and option somewhere in the driver to designate the function of that jack or maybe in the Sound Properties of your Control Panel applet?
