Everytime i start up xp, my sound is broken and crackly. I have all the latest drivers. And if i uninstall and reinstall the sound drivers from device manager and sound works fine. But it is a real arse to do this every time i turn the computer on. Help anyone, please.
NB i temporarily installed a friends inno 3d GF2 and the sound seemed to work fine. (ps stick with kyroII anyday, far quicker)
System:
Using onboard ac'97 sound - latest drivers
Athlon T-bird 1400
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA7Z-XE - latest via 4-in 1 drivers
256 generic 133 ram
Hercules Kyro II 4500 - latest drivers
20GB caviar 7200
2xRealtek 10mbs ethernet

I can help

They are not compatible with XP or 2000 i would recommend to upgrade to a newer sound card. It will start to work

If it is ISA then it really won't work

Windows 2000 and Xp hate legacy stuff ( old stuff)

Good Luck
