Hi Everybody

I am interested in creating a equalizer for an mp3 player that I have written. My problem, I have no idea how to get started. Is it possible to break up a sound file into different frequencies so that they can be changed manually. If VB is not the right language to do this what is?
Can anyone point me in the right direction. I have found plenty of downloadable EQ's on the net but I have not had alot of luck finding source code that might help to point me in the right direction

Johnny,
If there is one thing that I've learned about Visual Basic, is that by this time everything that is out there has been at least attempted in VB. And as a matter of fact, It appears others have created MP3 players with "balance" controls (their words, I like "EQ" better) But I was able to find a few examples on freevbcode's website. I think it was called XPlayer.

Martin I don't suffer from insanity.
I enjoy every minute of it.
