i have read various postings here regarding sound and cannot figure out the answer to my dilemma. it is this: my sound loads before my image even though i have it parallel to the image loading on another level. how do i get around this? i also made sound a movie thinking this would help out, and it didn't...

thanks for any advice!

This may help. When you publish Flash you can specify how it loads, either "Bottom up" or "Top down". If your sound is on a level below your image and you have published it "Bottom up" then this could be the reason.

Thanks for the help, but no, this isn't the case. My file does load bottom up and the sound is on the top...could it be that sound loads faster than the images?

Ok, the only thing I can think of is if you use a pre-loader, this will enable you to load everything you want before the movie plays so everything will play at the right time. Here is a pretty cool tutorial on a percentage pre-loader that lets the visitor know how long they have to wait.

Hope this helps, roda B-)

Thanks for your help...I am doing the preloader...Also, another question if you do not mind. I wanted to know what the best way of trimming down the movie's bulkiness. I have a page which is full of many animation bits...I read somewhere here that one could consolidate the movie to a movie clip and then insert into a page. does this work do you know?

thanks again!

I'm not sure about this one. If you post this up as a new one FAO oldnewbie or davedesign, I'm sure they will be able to help you there.

Sorry about the delay, been off this week.
