Is there a particular type of sound card I need to get audio from a cassette into my computer so that I can create a wav and .rm file?

Depending on your hardware: you may go to a local radio Shack (or your national equivalent) and get what patch cords you need to input from your cassette to the computer.
Then you'll need some software to do the .wav translation.

IF you have audio in channel on your machine it's possible you don't need an add-on sound card. IF not, they'll tell you....

OR tell us more about your hardware.
