I had in mu computer a Sound Card(sound blaster live) and i could not get any sound of it, if i play a mp3 or something it goes from 8 seconds to 8 seconds, like in a big speed, so I thought my sound cards was damaged, so i got a new sound card and the same still happens.
Anyone have ideas why this is happening. I am using Windows XP

try switching the slot your card is in. might be a bad slot. if that doesn't work you might have a bad rom drive. also make sure that the sound wire is good. bad wire from the drive to the card will mean no sound too.
good luck. change the slot and put a different wire from the drive to the card first. have had many bad wires even new ones myself.

thanks you have solved my problem. It was a pci slot problem
