Sound Card?????

I was one he Compuer using WinMedia Player, when i crased i resarted he comp and when i came back on i had no sound. i was curious so i plugged my speakers into my diskman and they work , so right now my mic and my speakers don't work when there plugged into the sockets so i uninstalled my soundcard and then let the computer re install it but it found a crystal audio one when i uninstalled a avance av97 i dunno wut to do i have no sound and no recording abilities , is my sound card fried?? is there a way to check???? and one more thing everytime it installs the crystal wdm audio codec is has a problem even tho i have the drivers........wut do i do

Just uninstall all Audio drivers, don't allow it to install it's own from windows, press cancel or skip and then install the correct drivers from the motherboards CDrom motherboard drivers disc. Martin Please let members know if there advice has helped any.
