Sound Card problem VIA

Hi,

I just installed SuSe 9.3 and having problem with sound.
Yast is saying everything is ok with sound card,
But I am not about to here any sound.

Same sound card working under WinXP.

I am not so good in Linux so please help me what I can check.

Sometimes the volume control is set to 0 and muted.
Check this by running alsamixer and alsactl store to save it as root.
