Greetings All,
I've installed an old sound card (Crystal Audio /Audio Plus 6400 3D), after I found and installed the drivers for it, it produced excellent sound but I could no longer see my A drive at all in windows. I unplug the sc and the floppy is back (after reboot). The sc uses IRQ 5 & 7 and uses an ISA slot. Didn't see any resources for the floppy in device manager, so I'm not sure if there is any resource conflicts. The MoBo is an ECS Sis55p, 95 bios flashed to 97 and only has PCI and ISA slots. I've pushed this board as far as I can and this is my last stumdling block. Your ideas would be appriciated.
Thanks.

Have you allocated IRQs for this soundcard in the BIOS? Depending upon the mobo and BIOS, you can usually flip the relevant IRQs between PCI and ISA.

Greetings,
Thanks for the reply. I've checked the Bios Settings and there are unused IRQs available and there is an IRQ allocated to the SC and the Floopy drive. I also went back to Device Manager and rechecked the IRQs there and there are no conflicts. I did notice that a floppy driver/controller was missing. So the question is "Why isn't the generic driver recognized when the SC is installed as opposed to being recognized when the SC is not installed?"
