I have gone from ME to 98SE and was able to find the driver for hte modem (thanks to very supportive forum participants) now I have no sound card driver. Not being familiar with the inside of the computer (a no name) I don'r know where to look for the sound card. If some one can tell me I'll have no problem looking for it. I just can't see anything that says SOUND. I assume that if I know that make, etc I can downlaod a driver. Of course I have assumed incorrectly before.
Thanks, once again.

Look for the sound jacks and the joystick connector. They will be on the outside of the sound card (or motherboard if it's onboard sound). Jim

The bit of hardware that the speaker jack plugs into says "tact" on the side of it. When I search for a tact sound card driver google comes up with zip.

Take a close look at the biggest chip on the card, get the numbers off it, and post back. Cheers,
Jim
