I currently have a Sound Blaster Audigy sound card, with the "front panel" (formerly known as Live Drive) where I can easily plug in my headphones, mic, spdif in/out, 1394, etc.
I'm getting ready to upgrade to a newer version of the Audigy, Probably the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum or Platinum Pro, and was curious if the front panel that came with the older card should still work on the newer one. If so, I can save some money and buy the version with no extra panel. I contacted creative, and they suggested not reusing it because "It may have a different pinout", which IMO is really a bogus answer. Either it has a different pinout or it doesn't. It almost seemed like an attempt to get me to spend more money on their products.
Has anyone else experienced this situation? Does anyone happen to have the front panel pinout diagram for these drives?
Thanks in advance,
MG
