Hi, i have just reformated my dads computer, and loaded windows 98 onto it, now i have no sound and have limited colour, I have pulled the case off the computer to see what make the sound card and video cards are so i can download the driver but they must be apart of the mother board, i worked out the soundcard is a sound pro HT1869v+ and i downloaded that driver but all that gets me to is a dos screen saying this:

Extracting files from E:\SP98UPP.exe
Extract to <.\>:

What do I type here to install it,
Also, someone told me I may have to install the motherboard driver, which should fix the sound and colour, Ive tried downloading the driver for the motherboard (which is a TX pro II), but when i try to install that, it brings up this NetMeeting program ??. Whats this driversguide site like?? is there somewhere else i can download it from that might give me the correct program.. ???

The usual step is to install the motherboard drivers from the CD that was supplied with the machine.

Next best is to download the motherboard set from the manufacturer's site.

The last options are to download drivers from the driverguide or from the specific chip manufacturer.

You might want to get a copy of Belarc Advisor to help identify the motherboard.

Your motherboard won't have a single driver. It will have drivers for each major component.
