How do you sort on a formula field? This particular formula field contains the total of 4 other fomula fields added together.

You should be able to select it from the Report->Sort Records list.

A formula will have a @ prefix on it.

Yes, I have tried that but for some reason it doesn't appear in the list?? (other formula's do..)

Not all formula are available for this. For example if you sum() or Count() or any print time evaluation, these are not available.

dgillz: Good point, I've probably incorrectly assumed that "added together" meant concatenated, it's probably summed.

the formula is:

{@total jul-sept 2001}+{@total oct-dec 2001}+{@total jan-mar 2002}+{@total apr-jun 2002}

each of these formula's contains the sum of another formula.

To sort on a summary you need to use the Top-N expert. Click on report, Top-N/Group Expert, and go from there. Software Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine
