Using Project 2007.

Is there a way to Sort just a selection?

When I use the sort feature, everything sorts.

All I want to do is sort one summary tasks contents.

Thanks,
Ray

Not that I am aware of. I'll be interested to see if anyone else can come up with something.

Until then ... it looks as if you're going to have to use "drag-and-drop" or, if you don't need to worry about UniqueID values, you can use "delete-and-paste".

This is ugly, but it works.
1. In your existing schedule, cut the section of activities that needs localized sorting.
2. Place the cut activities in a new temporary project.
3. Sort the section of activities in the temporary project.
4. Cut the activities from the temporary project.
5. Paste them back into the original schedule.

I'd the easiest way (thinking that you may want to resort it another way in the future) is to highlight a line, then drag & drop it where you want.
WARNING - check the dependency links you had didn't change!

Thanks for the responses you'all.
I am familiar with the different sorting methods you provided. I was hoping I had missed a trick in Projects that would allow an easy sort.
I will try and get a response from MS and hopefully there are plans to allow a selection sort.

Thanks again,
Ray
