Is it possible to sort on value within an drilldown path? If yes how? I tried to do it whith an advanced subset(thanks bruce) but no satisfied outcome, can I make an macro to resolve this problem? Thanks.
Me again! I still have not found a solution for you. If the advice I gave you last time did not fit the problem, I can't think of another one.
Maybe send me your problem again via email & I will try on my machine. I ran a simple example here & it worked fine!
PPES will only sort like this:
Family 1 (ascending alphabetic, using sort in transformer)
Family 2 (Ascending alpha, in trans.)
Family 3 ( " " "
etc
Details (ascending OR descending NUMERIC via advanced subset "top-10" work-around)
If you want a more complicated sort, Cognos does not seem to be up to the job. Excel can do better
The problem in an advanced subset is that the drilldown or drillup function is not working the same.
Example in an advanced subset:
Salesrep A
custX 2500
custY 2000
custZ 1500
This is good, but I want to show my customers(sorted by value) only when the users want to drilldown on a salesrep. An advanced subset shows also the lowest catagories and you cant drillup.
I just want my customers sorted on value when I'am drillingdown on a Salesrep :-(. The sort function in powerplay reporter is just not sorting de lower catagories but also higher catagories and that changes my report that is customized on user requirments.
What about checking on and off (in the advanced subset), the levels you want and don't want? By a mouse click your report will show all details, or only summeries.
Just a thought, I have not tried it, I have to job hunt now.
