I am using CR XI..Access 2000

I have inserted a crosstab report.

Jan Feb Mar
Product A $100 $200 $10
Product B $35 $303 $230
Product C $200 $293 $222
Client 1
Product A $101 $200 $12
Product B $35 $300 $211
Product C $200 $293 $22
Client 2

I need to sort by the summarized field (dollar amount) either ascending or descending.

I was able to sort the products and clients.. But cannot figure how to sort on the summarized field.

Your help will be appreciated!!!

Select the crosstab and then go to report->group sort->choose "All", ascending or descending. However, note that the group sort will be based on the total column, which you are not displaying, not on a particular month's value.

LB,

Thanks for the response..

I want to sort on every month's value...I guess TopN/BottomN should be of help.. In that case, what should the value of N be set to ?

Also I do have the total column in my report..Sorry for not showing it...

Try a topn report and choose all. You can then sort on the summary fields

you said:
"Try a topn report and choose all. You can then sort on the summary fields"

But when I select TopN from the group Sort expert, I do not see the option of choosing "All"

I am using CR XI..

I am just seeing the "Sum of Sale_Amount" in my dropdown box.

When you go to report->group sort, you will first see a dropdown on the left that says "no sort". Select "All" from the dropdown. Then on the right you will see the summary "Sum of SaleAmt" (already chosen for you if this is your only summary), and below that "Ascending" and "Descending"--Choose the one you want.

Note that if you have inserted summaries on sales amount for both product and client, you will see separate tabs for each. If you want to sort both groups, set up both tabs as above.
