I have been tasked with creating a rpt that lists customers by the amount of purchases they have made in the past year and breaks it down on a monthly basis.
I can't seem to figure out how group them correctly in order to show the monthly breakdowns. The data is in the DB in the form of invoice dates.

the final report should resemble:

Cst Name MTD Oct(mtd-1) Sep(mtd-2) Aug(mtd-3) Total YTD

ABC Co 5,000 4,000 7,000 2,000 18,000
BCD CO 3,000 3,000 5,000 4,000 15,000
CDE Co 3,000 1,000 4,000 4,000 12,000

Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks guys.

Use a record selection formula like this:

{table.invoicedate} in yeartodate

Then insert a crosstab in the report footer that uses company as the row, and invoicedate as the column field. While the column field is highlighted->group options->print on change of month, descending order. Add {table.invoiceamt} as the summary field.
