Hi

We recently went from SQL2000 to SQL2005 and our data imports via a SQL view are not ordering the columns as required. Is there any reason for this?

Thanks

Hi,

"external data import" into WHAT application?

Is there a specific ORDER BY clause in the SQL?

Rgds, Geoff

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.

Hmmm, thot I posted a reply.

In Data > Import External Data > Data range properties UNCHECK preserve columns sort/filter/layout.

This OVERRIDES any Order in your resultset, as any sort done on previous results in the Excel table, will occur after the query resultset is refreshed.
