Sorting on different field than group by

I have a report Grouped by ID number but i want it sorted by Name.

Is there an easy way to do this?

Header 1 is Grouped by Account_Exec
Header 2 is Grouped by Broker_ID
All Detail has been suppressed.

Header 2 is then sorted by ID when i would like it sorted by Broker_Name and not Broker_ID

No... I'll explain.

When we enter the brokers in we have to use the name on each states license. Some brokers use different names for each state.

My table looks like this
110NY - ABC Broker
110FL - ABO Broker, LLC.

I can use the Left Function to get the code to read 110 and use that formula to group. However if use the name field then 2 brokers will apear instead of 1.

I want to group on my formula that using the left function (which returns 110) but i want to sort by name.

Do you need me to cleaify further?

Which name would appear in Group 110, the NY or FLA broker's name?

You can use the MID function to isolate the Name part ( using InStr to find the - character ), create a formula using that part and and sort, within the Group, on that formula.

Place the name field in the details section and insert a summary on it (max or min) at the ID level, and then go to report->group sort and select the summary to sort the group by.
