Hi I am using crystal XI version release 2.
I am creating a sales report which is grouped by the field sales stage.
The sales people want to seee the groups in a particular which comes neither in ascending order or descending order.
How to make a crystal report to show the records in a partiuclar order.

Any help would be appreciated.

Change the group and select specified order. From the pop-up window, set your own specified order.

can you explain it little more in detail..Thanks

In my Crystal 9/10, I Right mouse click on the GroupHeader1 title along the left side of the report Design tab..

Select "Change Group...."

In the Change Group Options change the order from the 2nd drop down..

As DavidKnight said, right click on the group header containing the sales stage along the left side of the design tab and click on Change Group...

From the pop-up, under sales.stage, click on the dropdown and you will have additional options instead of just ascending and descending. Select specified order.

You will get another pop-up menu. You can then selectively create the order by clicking and adding each groupname in the order you want.

Thanks for your answers. I really appreciate them.
Now i have one more issue that is my crystal report is based on the project data which comes from the vb.net program. So i will not have data during the design mode all i will have is the structure. How can we solve this problem.

The above solution is perfect for the problem however how to get the data during the design time.

Thanks a lot

I guess there is an icon on the menu bar that allows you to edit the sql script, there you can condition the result to order by 'field name' asc or desc.
