Sorting issue

I'm trying to sort a subset of a sort in CR7 and not finding a way to do it.

I have a report that pulls records and then sorts them based on a date. I'm using a parameter and a group selection formula to display the records in multiples of 30 (still sorted by date). The problem arises when I want to sort alphabetically within the records currently displayed. I haven't found a way to group by a running total, running total formula or record number so I could then sort within group. I'm thinking I might be able to accomodate my needs with a subreport, but have been unsuccessful in getting it function correctly.

Thanks for any help in solving what I'm sure is a simple problem.

That can be a pain to do - can you use a view or a stored proc to provide a grouping field for you? Malcolm
