Sorting/Filtering files

I've found that via the Mgt Console, you cannot sort files. "Files appear sorted by name in alphabetical order, then by version number. You cannot change the sort order." However, you can filter them within the Mgt Console. Does anybody know if you can set sort or filter options for the reports within the user web viewing mode? I would like to sort by creation date instead of my name. We are going to explore archiving, but this would still be very useful.
